About the Authors
Dr. Scott Weiss is a licensed physical therapist and board certified athletic trainer based in New York. He is also a registered exercise physiologist and strength and conditioning specialist with over twenty years of experience.
Scott's interest in boxing was triggered by his great-uncle Sammy who was a prizefighter in the early 1900's and his father's career with NBC sports. Scott has boxed as an amateur featherweight in tournaments throughout New York's five boroughs and competed at many martial arts tournaments in the tri-state area. He is a licensed second in New York and is currently working with Tommy Gallagher as part of Team Bracero, training undefeated junior welterweight Gabe Bracero. Scott is currently being trained in Cus D'Amato's Peek-a-Boo style by Kevin Rooney and Nadia Hujtyn at D'Amato's gym in Caskill, NY. He is working on the manuscript for his next book which is a technical manual on the mechanics of boxing according to the Cus D'Amato method.
Scott is a martial arts practitioner and instructor holding a black belt in both Tang Soo Do and Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu. Presently, he practices Lohan Qiqong and provides instruction as well. He is also an avid rock climber and when he is not on the rocks, you can find him doing gymnastics, yoga, or some other type of bodywork outdoors. His deeply rooted interest in the study of human movement makes him a fan of all sports and body expression.
Scott was a part of the USA Sports Medicine team in the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing. He has trained elite athletes at the NCAA, Olympic, and major league levels, as well as top performing individuals competing at the highest levels of international sport. Scott is the owner and the clinical director of Bodhizone for Human Performance & Sports Physical Therapy, with three locations in Manhattan and one in Queens. Scott has earned a bachelor's and master's degree in exercise physiology and a doctorate in physical therapy.
Paige Stover Hague is the owner of a group of communications companies in Boston. She has been a writer and publisher of legal, financial, and business content throughout her professional career. Her first boxing book, From the Corners of the Ring to the Corners of the Earth (CIVCOM 2010), was awarded the gold medal in the sports category by the Independent Book Publishers in 2010.
She was also the recipient of a silver medal, Axiom Business Book Award for Life is Short, Art is Long, Maximizing Estate Planning Strategies for Collectors of Art, Antiques, and Collectibles (Wealth Management Press 2007).
